A bill for an act
relating to commerce; requiring an insurer to respond to an agent's request for
reasons for an increase in premiums for a customer; proposing coding for new
law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 60A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin An insurer must respond to an insurance agent's request for reasons for an increase in
insurance premiums for a customer of the insurance agent. The response must be made in
writing within ten days of the request and include a reasonable explanation of the factors
that resulted in the increase in premiums.
