A bill for an act
 relating to natural resources; requiring approval of certain local governments
before acquiring land for park or trail purposes outside of the seven-county
metropolitan area; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter
85.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

ACQUISITION.

new text begin Prior to the commissioner of natural resources acquiring lands for park or trail
purposes outside the seven-county metropolitan area, or prior to a political subdivision
application for a grant of state money for acquisition of land for park or trail purposes
outside of the seven-county metropolitan area, the commissioner or political subdivision
shall obtain the written approval of every city and organized township where the park or
trail is located or through which it passes.
