A bill for an act
relating to insurance; prohibiting certain discriminatory cost-sharing policies
for prescription drugs; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 62Q.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

HEALTH PLAN IMPOSITION OF HIGHER COST-SHARING FOR CERTAIN
DRUGS.

new text begin No health plan company shall offer, issue, sell, or renew a health plan that imposes
cost-sharing, deductibles, co-payments, or co-insurance on any prescription drug that
exceeds the cost-sharing, deductibles, co-payments, or co-insurance imposed under the
health plan for nonpreferred or nonformulary brand name prescription drugs.
