A bill for an act
relating to workforce development; appropriating money for grants to African
Career, Education, and Resources, Inc. and to the Organization of Liberians in
Minnesota.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; AFRICAN CAREER, EDUCATION, AND
RESOURCES, INC. AND ORGANIZATION OF LIBERIANS IN MINNESOTA.

$300,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the workforce development fund to
the commissioner of employment and economic development. Of this amount, $150,000 is
for a grant to African Career, Education, and Resources, Inc. and $150,000 is for a grant to
the Organization of Liberians in Minnesota. The grant is for the organizations to develop a
program for health care skills training and computer skills training. This is a onetime
appropriation.
