A bill for an act
 relating to veterans; appropriating money to support homes for veterans program
within Department of Veterans Affairs.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TENANCY SUPPORTS AND LANDLORD ENGAGEMENT.

new text begin $1,100,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of veterans affairs to support the homes for veterans program within the Department of
Veterans Affairs, provide incentives for landlords to assist in housing homeless veterans
and former service members, employ staff, and remove barriers preventing homeless veterans
from having permanent housing. The commissioner of veterans affairs may use this
appropriation for financial assistance, personnel, research, marketing, and professional or
technical contracts. The base for this appropriation in fiscal year 2024 and each year thereafter
is $975,000.
