A bill for an act
relating to state government; appropriating money in the Help America Vote Act
account to the secretary of state; amending Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 5.30,
subdivision 2.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.
Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 5.30, subdivision 2, is amended to read:
Subd. 2.
Appropriation.

Help America Vote Act, the state plan certified by the governor under the act, and for

maintenance of effort requirements of section 254(a)(7) of the Help America Vote Act,
Public Law 107-252, based on the level of state expenditures for the fiscal year ending June
30, 2000.

This section is effective the day following final enactment and
applies to any balances of money in the Help America Vote Act account existing on or after
that date.
