A bill for an act
relating to human services; providing a minimum wage for providers of personal
care services; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin MINIMUM HOURLY WAGE FOR PROVIDERS OF PERSONAL CARE
ASSISTANT SERVICES.

new text begin (a) Providers of services described in Minnesota Statutes, section 256B.0625, subdivisions
19a and 19c, must be paid a wage of, at a minimum, $14 per hour for work provided through
a program covered under Minnesota Statutes, chapter 256B.

new text begin (b) The commissioner of human services shall increase reimbursement rates, grants, or
allocations by an amount sufficient to cover the minimum wage required under this section.

Sec. 2. new text begin APPROPRIATION.
