A bill for an act
relating to education; requiring schools to report on testing material expenditures;
requiring report to the legislature; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 123B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin "Testing materials" include tests, pretests, or prepackaged
lessons that include a test or pretest.

new text begin (a) Each school district must collect and annually report all
expenditures by educational site for testing materials on its website and to the department.

new text begin (b) By February 1 of each year, the commissioner must report to the chairs and ranking
minority members of the legislative committees having jurisdiction over the early childhood
through grade 12 education on the cost by district and educational site of testing materials
for the prior school year.
