A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; appropriating money to address Palmer amaranth and other
invasive noxious weeds.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $600,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $600,000 in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of agriculture to develop and implement a comprehensive
and proactive program to address Palmer amaranth and other noxious weeds and invasive
terrestrial plants that pose a threat to this state. The commissioner must consult the
commissioner of natural resources, the Noxious Weed Advisory Committee, and other
stakeholders.
