A bill for an act
relating to human services; increasing housing support supplementary service rate
for certain facilities; appropriating money for housing support supplementary
service rate increase and grants for housing with supports for adults with serious
mental illness; amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 256I.05, subdivision
1g.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 256I.05, subdivision 1g, is amended to read:


Subd. 1g.

Supplementary service rate for certain facilities.

An agency may negotiate
a supplementary service rate for recipients of assistance under section 256I.04, subdivision
1
, paragraph (a) or (b), who have experienced long-term homelessness and who live in a
supportive housing establishment under section 256I.04, subdivision 2a, paragraph (b),
clause (2).new text begin An agency may increase the supplementary service rate for recipients under this
subdivision by $50 per month.

Sec. 2. new text begin APPROPRIATIONS.

new text begin (a) $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2019 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of human services for the purposes of section 1.

new text begin (b) $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2019 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of human services for adult mental health grants under Minnesota Statutes,
section 245.4661, subdivision 9, paragraph (a), clause (2), to support increased availability
of housing with supports for adults with serious mental illness.
