A bill for an act
relating to state government; changing references in the clean water fund data
availability provision; changing the name of the Office of MN.IT Services;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 114D.50, subdivision 5.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 114D.50, subdivision 5, is amended to read:


Subd. 5.

Data availability.

Data collected by the projects funded with money from the
clean water fund that have value for planning and management of natural resources,
emergency preparedness, and infrastructure investments must conform to the enterprise
information architecture developed by the Office of MN.IT Services. Spatial data must
conform to geographic information system guidelines and standards outlined in that
architecture and adopted by the Minnesota deleted text begin Geographic Data Clearinghousedeleted text end new text begin Geospatial
Commons
new text end at the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office. A description new text begin and a copy new text end of
deleted text begin thesedeleted text end new text begin thenew text end data that adheres to the Office of MN.IT Services geographic metadata standards
must be submitted to the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office to be made available
online through the deleted text begin clearinghousedeleted text end new text begin Minnesota Geospatial Commonsnew text end and the data must be
accessible and free to the public unless made private under chapter 13. To the extent
practicable, summary data and results of projects funded with money from the clean water
fund should be readily accessible on the Internet and identified as a clean water fund project.

Sec. 2. new text begin REVISOR'S INSTRUCTION.

new text begin The revisor of statutes shall change the name "Office of MN.IT Services" to "Minnesota
IT Services" wherever it appears in Minnesota Statutes and Minnesota Rules. The revisor
shall also change "office" to "agency" wherever "office" is used to reference "Office of
MN.IT Services" in Minnesota Statutes and Minnesota Rules.
