equipment.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; VETERINARY DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORY.

new text begin (a) $283,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of agriculture for a grant to the Board of Regents of the University of
Minnesota to maintain and increase animal disease testing capacity through the purchase
of veterinary diagnostic laboratory equipment, as follows:

new text begin (1) $21,000 for a liquid handler that prepares reagents;
new text end

new text begin (2) $120,000 for two magnetic extraction systems;
new text end

new text begin (3) $13,000 for a freezer that stores samples and reagents;
new text end

new text begin (4) $30,000 for two biosafety cabinets; and
new text end

new text begin (5) $99,000 for two thermal cyclers.
