A bill for an act
relating to transportation; making appropriations for transportation management
organizations in the Twin Cities metropolitan area; proposing coding for new
law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 473.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [473.235] TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATIONS.

new text begin $390,000 is annually appropriated from the general fund to the council for grants to
transportation management organizations that provide services exclusively or primarily
in (1) each city of the first class, as provided under section 410.01; and (2) the city
having the highest population as of the effective date of this section located along the
marked Interstate Highway 494 corridor. The council may not retain any portion of funds
appropriated under this section. From the appropriation in each fiscal year, the council
shall make grant payments in full by July 31. Permissible uses of funds under this section
include administrative expenses and programming and service expansion, including but
not limited to staffing, communications, outreach and education program development,
and operations management.
