A bill for an act
relating to education finance; postponing revised evaluation requirements and
changes in sponsorship fees for certain charter schools until June 30, 2011, or
when the charter school contract expires.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin CHARTER SCHOOL CONTRACT TERMS MAY REMAIN IN
EFFECT.

new text begin Notwithstanding Laws 2009, chapter 96, article 2, section 41, the board of directors
of a charter school sponsored by a school district and the school board of the sponsoring
school district may continue to apply the sponsorship fees and the charter school
evaluation process in effect in a charter school contract on May 15, 2009, until either (1)
June 30, 2011, or (2) the expiration date of that charter school contract, whichever is later.
