A bill for an act
relating to public safety; allowing use of flashing red light on protective agent
vehicle while escorting oversized vehicle; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008,
section 169.64, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 169.64, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Flashing red light on protective agent vehicle. new text end

new text begin A protective agent's
vehicle may be equipped with a flashing red light of a type approved by the commissioner
of public safety. The flashing red light may be activated only when the vehicle is escorting
an oversized vehicle pursuant to section 326.338, subdivision 4, clause (4).
