A bill for an act
 relating to veterans; expanding eligibility of disabled veterans for a free annual
state park permit; amending Minnesota Statutes 2009 Supplement, section
85.053, subdivision 10.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2009 Supplement, section 85.053, subdivision 10,
is amended to read:


Subd. 10.

Free entrance; deleted text begin totally and permanentlydeleted text end disabled veterans.

The
commissioner shall issue an annual park permit for no charge to any veteran with a total
and permanent service-connected disability, new text begin and to any resident veteran with any level of
service-connected disability, new text end as determined by the United States Department of Veterans
Affairs, who presents each year a copy of deleted text begin theirdeleted text end new text begin the veteran'snew text end determination letter to a
park attendant or commissioner's designee. For the purposes of this section, "veteran"
has the meaning given in section 197.447.
