  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to bicycles; authorizing local units of 
  1.3             government to require purchasers of impounded bicycles 
  1.4             to register them as a condition of the sale; amending 
  1.5             Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 168C.13, by adding a 
  1.6             subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 168C.13, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 3.  [REGISTRATION OF IMPOUNDED BICYCLES UPON SALE.] A 
  1.11  political subdivision that sells bicycles it has impounded may 
  1.12  require that the purchaser of an impounded bicycle register the 
  1.13  bicycle under section 168C.03 as a condition of the sale.
