A bill for an act
relating to children; extending the Task Force on the Protection of Children.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TASK FORCE ON THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN;
EXTENSION.

new text begin (a) The Task Force on the Protection of Children, created by Executive Order 14-15
on September 22, 2014, and scheduled to expire on March 31, 2015, shall be extended
until March 31, 2016.

new text begin (b) Current legislative members of the task force shall serve as cochairs.

new text begin (c) The task force shall continue to review the child protection system, may examine
issues related to adverse child experiences, and shall identify issues and practices that
need improvement in order to protect children. In addition, the task force shall focus on
issues presented by youth who run away or are pushed out of their homes and the methods
and services needed to protect these youth.

new text begin (d) The task force shall evaluate the effects of any statutory changes made by the
2015 legislature.

new text begin (e) The task force shall issue a preliminary report and recommendations to the
legislature, the governor, and the public by September 30, 2015, and a final report and
recommendations by March 31, 2016.
