A bill for an act
relating to state government; permitting the Department of Administration to
contract for waste-hauling without determining whether state employees are able
to do the work; prohibiting the state from purchasing waste-hauling vehicles
for use in the Capitol complex; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 16C.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Notwithstanding section 16C.08, 16C.09, 43A.047, or other
law to the contrary, the commissioner may enter into or approve a service contract for
waste removal without determining that no current state employee is able and available to
perform the services called for by the contract.

The commissioner may not acquire by purchase or lease
a waste-hauling vehicle for use in the Capitol complex.
