  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing a land transfer.  
  1.3   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.4      Section 1.  [LAND TRANSFER.] 
  1.5      (a) Notwithstanding other law, the board of trustees of the 
  1.6   Minnesota state colleges and universities may without 
  1.7   compensation transfer to the city of Moorhead a tract of land 
  1.8   located in the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, Township 139 
  1.9   North, Range 48 West, of the Fifth Principal Meridian, Clay 
  1.10  county, Minnesota, described as follows:  
  1.11     Commencing at the center of Section 9; thence south along 
  1.12  the north/south center line of Section 9 a distance of 356.47 
  1.13  feet to the point of beginning; thence South 89 degrees 59 
  1.14  minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 196.04 feet to a point on 
  1.15  the west right-of-way line of Main Avenue Southeast; thence 
  1.16  South 36 degrees 44 minutes 30 seconds East along the west 
  1.17  right-of-way line of Main Avenue Southeast a distance of 
  1.18  1,428.62 feet; thence South 89 degrees 36 minutes 30 seconds 
  1.19  West a distance of 1,050.78 feet; thence North 1,152.05 feet 
  1.20  along the north/south center line of Section 9 to the point of 
  1.21  beginning less a parcel of land commencing at the center of said 
  1.22  Section 9, thence south along the north and south center line of 
  1.23  said Section 9 a distance of 1,288.52 feet to the point of 
  1.24  beginning (POB); thence North 89 degrees 36 minutes 30 seconds 
  2.1   East a distance of 400.00 feet; thence South 0 degrees 00 
  2.2   minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 145.00 feet; thence North 
  2.3   89 degrees 36 minutes 30 seconds East a distance of 300 feet; 
  2.4   thence North 0 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds West a distance of 
  2.5   145 feet; thence North 89 degrees 36 minutes 30 seconds East a 
  2.6   distance of 187.38 feet to the west right-of-way line of Main 
  2.7   Avenue Southeast; thence North 36 degrees 44 minutes 30 seconds 
  2.8   West along said right-of-way line a distance of 377.15 feet; 
  2.9   thence South 89 degrees 36 minutes 30 seconds West a distance of 
  2.10  661.76 feet to the north and south center line of Section 9; 
  2.11  thence south along said center line a distance of 303.77 feet to 
  2.12  the point of beginning. 
  2.13     Said parcel contains 10.088 acres more or less.  
  2.14     The deed must provide that, if the city develops the 
  2.15  property for other than a public purpose, the property will 
  2.16  revert to the state on behalf of the board of trustees of the 
  2.17  Minnesota state colleges and universities. 
  2.18     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  2.19  attorney general.
