  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to local government; expanding authority to 
  1.3             transfer personal property; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 2000, section 471.85. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 471.85, is 
  1.7   amended to read: 
  1.8      471.85 [PROPERTY TRANSFER; PUBLIC CORPORATIONS.] 
  1.9      Any county, city, town, or school district may transfer 
  1.10  its, for the public good, personal property for a nominal or 
  1.11  without consideration to another public corporation for public 
  1.12  use that the county, city, town, or school district's governing 
  1.13  body had determined that it no longer needs when duly authorized 
  1.14  by its governing body.
