1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

2.33money: (1) appropriated for Department of
3.1Public Safety administration, the patrolling of
3.2highways, commercial vehicle enforcement,
3.3or driver and vehicle services to capitol
3.4security; or (2) from capitol security.

(d) Vehicle Crimes Unit

3.6This appropriation is to investigate (1)
3.7registration tax and motor vehicle sales tax
3.8liabilities from individuals and businesses
3.9that currently do not pay all taxes owed; and
3.10(2) illegal or improper activity related to sale,
3.11transfer, titling, and registration of motor
3.12vehicles. This initiative is expected to result
3.13in new revenues for the biennium as follows:
3.14(1) $454,000 for the highway user tax
3.15distribution fund;
3.16(2) $303,000 for the transit assistance fund;
3.17and
3.18(3) $50,000 for the general fund.
3.19The base for this program is $693,000 in
3.20fiscal year 2012 and $693,000 in fiscal year
3.212013.
3.22EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2010.
