A bill for an act
 relating to state government; modifying audit requirements; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2012, section 469.3201.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 469.3201, is amended to read:


469.3201 deleted text begin STATEdeleted text end new text begin LEGISLATIVEnew text end AUDITOR; AUDITS OF JOB
OPPORTUNITY BUILDING ZONES AND BUSINESS SUBSIDY AGREEMENTS.

The deleted text begin Office of the State Auditordeleted text end new text begin legislative auditornew text end must annually audit the creation
and operation of all job opportunity building zones and business subsidy agreements
entered into under Minnesota Statutes, sections 469.310 to 469.320. To the extent
necessary to perform this audit, the deleted text begin statedeleted text end new text begin legislativenew text end auditor may request from the
commissioner of revenue tax return information of taxpayers who are eligible to receive
tax benefits authorized under section 469.315. To the extent necessary to perform this
audit, the deleted text begin statedeleted text end new text begin legislativenew text end auditor may request from the commissioner of employment and
economic development wage detail report information required under section 268.044 of
taxpayers eligible to receive tax benefits authorized under section 469.315.
