A bill for an act
relating to transportation; public safety; directing reinstatement of Golden Valley
deputy registrar office after certain conditions are met.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin DEPUTY REGISTRAR; GOLDEN VALLEY.

new text begin (a) Within 21 days following receipt of the notification specified under paragraph
(b), the commissioner of public safety shall reinstate the deputy registrar located in the
city of Golden Valley and allow the office to reopen.

new text begin (b) The city of Golden Valley may submit a notification to the commissioner of
public safety regarding the status of the deputy registrar office, which must include:

new text begin (1) a summary of findings from an internal investigation of the office related to
suspension of deputy registrar services;
new text end

new text begin (2) a review of recommendations from an audit of office procedures and financial
practices; and
new text end

new text begin (3) a review of identified changes to staffing, training, supervision, office procedures,
and financial practices implemented or planned to be implemented as part of reopening
the office.
