  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to agriculture; authorizing funding for the 
  1.3             development of a soybean oilseed processing facility.  
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [MINNESOTA INVESTMENT FUND; SOYBEAN OILSEED 
  1.6   PROCESSING FACILITY.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding the limit in Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.8   116J.8731, subdivision 5, a grant of up to $1,000,000 may be 
  1.9   made to a political subdivision that is chosen as a site for a 
  1.10  soybean oilseed processing facility constructed by a 
  1.11  Minnesota-based cooperative.  The grant may be used for site 
  1.12  preparation, predevelopment, and other infrastructure 
  1.13  improvements, including public and private utility improvements 
  1.14  that are necessary for development of the oilseed processing 
  1.15  facility.  The grant may be made any time until June 30, 2003.
