A bill for an act
relating to taxation; authorizing Aitkin County and
Independent School District No. 1 to conduct joint
hearings; amending Minnesota Statutes 2004, section
275.065, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 275.065, is
amended by adding a subdivision to read:

hearing. new text end

new text begin Notwithstanding any other law, Aitkin County and
Independent School District No. 1 may hold their initial public
hearing jointly. The hearing must be held on the second Tuesday
of December each year. The advertisement required in
subdivision 5a may be a joint advertisement. The hearing is
otherwise subject to the requirements of this section.
