"Wage Theft Protection Act"; classifying complaints to the department of labor
and industry; modifying the definition of employee and the workweek; prescribing
rest and meal breaks duration and frequency; modifying employer liability
damages payments; specifying commissioner of labor and industry required
actions; allowing employees to choose to have an organization bring action;
allowing employee and organization complaints and filings; requiring wage bonds
under certain conditions; requiring protection of immigrant workers; requiring
the commissioner to make grant to community organizations for employee outreach
and education purposes; prohibiting employer retaliation; expanding employer
crimes with penalties and requiring penalties deposit in a special account;
modifying the required statement of earnings by employers to employees;
regulating contracts for labor or services, requiring a written contract, and
prescribing penalties; requiring employee written statements from employers
describing employment terms and conditions; providing a six-year statute of
limitations regarding wage recovery; appropriating money to the commissioner of
labor and industry; specifying instructions to the revisor of statutes;
repealing a certain rule
